Noise mitigation can be achieved in many ways depending on the problem. For example, if the noise is coming from an inlet or outlet on a specific piece of equipment such as extraction units or air compressors etc, then it may be that with the introduction of silencers or attenuators with a certain insertion loss that the noise level can be sufficiently reduced at the noise source.

If the noise is more general and less localised, maybe an acoustic barrier or acoustic fence would be more suitable to screen noise sensitive areas. By using survey information collected and calculating the correct dimensions for a new acoustic barrier/fence, an effective noise reduction may be achievable.

With entertainment noise a Local Authority may have received complaints about a venue and noise break-out. With modern technology now available and our expertise, we could specify suitable noise limiters for amplified audio systems, upgraded acoustic glazing and/or ventilation along with other noise control and noise mitigation measures to minimise the impact on the surrounding community.
